A suspect killed 3 people and wounded 14 others before officers shot him.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Joint Terrorism Task Force is looking into the possible connection between a man who shot and killed three people and wounded 14 others on Sunday at a bar in Austin, Texas, to the U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran. Wearing a “Property of Allah” sweatshirt with a tee underneath bearing an Iranian flag, the man was shot dead by local police at the scene. The suspect was a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Senegal.
FBI San Antonio field office acting director Alex Doran said, “It’s still way too early in the process to determine the exact motivation. But there were indicators on the subject and in his vehicle that indicate a potential nexus to terrorism.”
Authorities found a Quran in the suspect’s vehicle and executed a search warrant to collect computers and phones from his residence to further the investigation.
“This act of violence will not define us, nor will it shake the resolve of Texans,” Governor Greg Abbott stated. “To anyone who thinks about using the current conflict in the Middle East to threaten Texans or our critical infrastructure, understand this clearly: Texas will respond with decisive and overwhelming force to protect our state.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For FBI and task force officials as they investigate the tragic attack.
